One of our favorite places is Mackinac Island, Michigan. Here's the Grand Hotel but there are lovely bed and breakfast spots in town. Make sure you get the planked whitefish, some fudge and rent a bicyle to ride around the eight mile shoreline! Plenty of small shops to browse through, check out the Butterfly House in town also.
